Ketua Pengurus Pusat Perhimpunan Dokter Spesialis Kardiovaskular Indonesia dr. Radityo Prakoso, SpJP (K) memaparkan, meski tidak berkaitan langsung namun konsumsi minuman manis berlebihan dapat memicu diabetes melitus.
Kemudian, jika diabetes melitus tidak terkontrol maka penyakit jantung tidak dapat terhindari.
“Sebenarnya secara langsung itu tidak ada, tetapi tadi salah satunya ada faktor risiko yaitu diabetes melitus. Penambahan gula sederhana itu seperti glukosa pada es teh, tentu akan sangat cepat meningkatkan gula darah dan pada akhirnya jadi diabetes melitus,” katanya dalam konferensi pers kemenkes.
“Jadi itu yang menjadi komorbid dan jik tidak terkendali dan akhirnya menjadi komorbid yang akan mempromote terjadinya serangan jantung,” terang dokter Radityo.
Ditambahkan Direktur Pencegahan dan Pengendalian Penyakit Tidak Menular dr. Eva Susanti, S.Kp, M.Kes secara umum konsumsi gula, garam, dan lemak memang harus dibatasi.
Sesuai anjuran yang ada gula yang masuk ke dalam tubuh tidak boleh lebih dari 50 mg per hari atau sekitar 4 sendok makan per hari.
Bahkan, di negara-negara yang banyak kasus obesitasnya, gula hanya dianjurkan 25 mg per hari.
“Kenapa karena gula ini akan menyebabkan obesitas yang akan memicu terjadinya diabetes dan diabetes ini kan nanti kalau tidak terkontrol kan akan menyebabkan juga muncul penyakit jantung,” ungkap dokter Eva.
